Sara warns the public about the online loan company

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has warned the public about an online loan company using her photo in its online post to attract customers, saying it is unrelated to such a company.

In a statement released Sunday, July 28, Duterte-Carpio warned the public against being fooled by their too-good-to-be-true offer using his name and photo.

“This is to alert the public to an online lending company that has illegally used my photo to apparently trick the public into believing that I support their service,” she said in the communicated.

She added: “I am not associated with PesosPh or other online loan companies that offer the public fast cash loans with outrageous fees and interest.”

The photo of Duterte-Carpio, used illegally by PesosPh, is making the rounds on social networks. It shows the mayor of the city in his pink government uniform showing off a piece of paper, with the aim of deceiving the public into taking advantage of the PesosPh services.

Duterte-Carpio said she posted the original photo to her Instagram account when she placed her bet for the P 800 million jackpot of the UltraLotto 6/58 game at one of the outlets on Mabini Street in October 2018. She posed while holding her receipt from the lotto game.

“Madali for access to outang mag, anumang oras, kahit saan. Get your money loans in 5 minutes,” PesosPh said in his article online.

The PesosPh urged the public to “send online and apply quickly” for a chance to qualify for loans in the amount of 300,000, 500,000, 800,000, 1 million and 2 million pesos.

“The public is both cautioned and advised to always be cautious in their dealings with the individuals, groups, organizations and businesses that use my name in their business,” said Duterte-Carpio.

Meanwhile, Duterte-Carpio called on the public to report to authorities if they were duped by this scheme.

“I strongly recommend that the public immediately report to the PNP or the NBI any fraudulent companies or those who use my name to continue their illegal activities,” she said.
