Stifel Financial launches venture banking and lending business


Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF), a financial services holding company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, has launched a venture banking and lending business.

Led by a group of industry veterans led by Brad Ellis (CEO) and Nathaniel Stone (Director), the new initiative is dedicated to providing debt financing and commercial banking solutions to growing businesses and their lenders. funds.
With nationwide coverage, the Stifel Venture Banking and Lending Group targets early-stage startups through mature growth companies, with a particular focus on the technology, healthcare and life sciences industries.

Stifel also focuses on fund-level banking and lending for private investment firms of all types, including private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, funds of funds and others.

The Fund Banking Group offers over $100 million capital subscription/call lines of credit, cash management tools and relationship management with a single point of contact. This firm is already working strategically with Stifel’s investment banking, wealth management platform and fund placement services provided by Stifel-owned Eaton Partners.

Brad Ellis brings 13 years of banking and corporate lending and investment fund experience in the technology and life sciences industries. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Square 1 Bank with responsibility for the New York region of the business, including all lending and portfolio management operations.

Nathaniel Stone has spent his entire career working with technology companies in advisory, investment and operating roles. Most recently, he was a senior lender at Square 1 Bank, where he led sourcing, underwriting and relationship management for the New York region.
