The Sandbox launches Game Jam, appeals to the creative side of developers
The popular metaverse platform The Sandbox has announced the launch of its âGame Jamâ in collaboration with Round21.
Essentially, users need to create a sports-related experience using The Sandbox’s Game Maker software.
Whether it’s based on a real sport – modern or past – or something straight out of your creative imagination [â¦] It is also up to you to decide whether the player participates in the sport. For example, you can create a game where the player has to face another team in a sport, a game where the player has to help manage a sporting event, an educational diorama where the player can experience a historical sport, etc. .
For lending their creativity to the platform, participants have a chance to win up to 20,000 SAND. A prize pool of 50,000 SAND was divided into ten games, with the top creator coming away with 20,000 SAND. Second and third places will walk away with 10,000 SAND and 6,000 SAND, respectively. Meanwhile, 4th to 10th places will receive 2,000 SAND each.
The Game Jam started today, December 24, and will run until January 9, 2022. Voting will begin on January 10, 2022 and end on January 17. Results will be announced on 22.
For clarity, all entries must be designed in the Game Maker software to be eligible. The experience should also have some playability and be sports-themed. Additionally, while similarities are acceptable, exact copies of existing sports games will not be accepted.
